So long, plastic wet wipes - but should we be flushing the new ones?

The UK is set to ban plastic wet wipes by 2027 due to their contribution to sewer blockages known as fatbergs, costing water companies millions annually. While most wipes in the UK are now non-plastic, they can still cause issues when flushed. Research shows non-plastic wipes may not break down fast enough and could still block sewer systems. Water companies and the government recommend throwing wipes in the bin instead of flushing them.
