New dinosaur species unearthed on Isle of Wight named after world record sailor
A newly discovered dinosaur with sail-like features on its back has been named Istiorachis macaruthurae after sailor Dame Ellen MacArthur. Unearthed on the Isle of Wight, this herbivorous dinosaur roamed floodplains 125 million years ago and is now on display at the Dinosaur Isle Museum. The naming honors Dame Ellen MacArthur's sailing accomplishments, with the sail spine of Istiorachis reflecting the sailor's passion for sailing.
