Fraud victims are being failed by justice system, warn charities
Published: 11/22/2025

Victims of fraud are not receiving proper justice, with only a small fraction of reported cases resulting in prosecution, charities warn. The UK saw 1.2 million cases of fraud in the past year, but less than 13,000 led to prosecution. Victim Support is voicing concerns about the treatment of victims in the criminal justice system and calling for increased awareness and cooperation between banks and social media platforms to combat fraud effectively.
