My 30-year-old world record is 'not a good sign for athletics', says Jonathan Edwards
At Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium, Jonathan Edwards made history by becoming the first athlete to surpass 18 meters in 'legal' wind conditions, achieving this feat twice within two rounds. With jumps of 18.16m and 18.29m, Edwards broke records and demonstrated exceptional athleticism. Despite his own doubts and a new technique, Edwards's competitors admired his skill and efficiency in the triple jump event.
