Scotland's McTominay nominated for Ballon d'Or
Scott McTominay, a former Manchester United midfielder now playing at Napoli and for Scotland, has been nominated for the 2025 men's Ballon d'Or award. This nomination comes after his impressive performance, scoring 12 goals in 34 league appearances for Napoli and helping them win the Serie A title. McTominay is the first Scot to be nominated since 1987, and among the 30 nominees for the prestigious award which will be announced on 22 September. Ousmane Dembele of Paris St-Germain is also a top contender for the award due to his outstanding season contributing to Champions League success.
