Thousands to get universal school uniform grant
Published: 5/26/2025

Tower Hamlets Council will provide a universal school uniform grant benefiting around 7,000 families in east London, offering £50 for primary and £150 for secondary school children from households with incomes of £50,350 or less. The move aims to ease the financial burden on parents. Additionally, the UK government's Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill seeks to limit the number of branded uniform items schools can require, further reducing costs for families nationwide.
