Price increases in the US ease in November

In November, price increases in the US eased as costs for items like hotels, milk, and certain clothing types declined, according to the latest Labor Department data. The 2.7% rise over the 12 months to November was lower than expected and down from 3% in September. These developments could support the case for the US central bank to continue cutting interest rates, especially as frustrations over rising prices have mounted. The consumer price index (CPI) report was delayed due to the US government shutdown.
