Council opens food voucher scheme for summer

Kent County Council has launched a food voucher scheme to assist struggling families during the summer. Eligible residents will receive a £90 one-off payment from the Household Support Fund. Applications are open until 26 August on a first-come, first-served basis, with the funds aimed at helping those facing financial hardship due to rising living costs. The scheme, led by KCC's Financial Hardship team, is part of a wider support initiative that also includes energy vouchers and will extend to a winter support program later in the year.
