Ofgem is set to announce a slight decrease in energy price cap amid plummeting temperatures, with analysts forecasting a 1% fall in prices. The new cap will come into effect in January for households on variable tariffs in England, Wales, and Scotland. The current average annual bill for energy usage is £1,755, with the cap applying to a "typical" consumption of gas and electricity per year.
