Pilot who tried to cut off engine midair after taking mushrooms pleads guilty

Former Alaska Airlines pilot pleads guilty in federal court to attempting to shut off plane engines mid-flight after taking mushrooms. He pleaded no-contest to reckless endangerment and first-degree endangering an aircraft in state court. Sentenced to 50 days in jail, 5 years' probation, 664 hours of community service, and restitution of $60,659, his sentencing in the federal case is scheduled for November 17.
