Armed men posing as India's central bank officials have pulled off an $800,000 heist, robbing a vehicle transporting cash in Karnataka. The gang convinced the van's occupants that they were RBI officials conducting a routine inspection before forcefully taking control of the cash. The police are conducting a massive operation to track down the robbers who used fake number plates and government stickers on their SUV to carry out the heist in broad daylight. This incident adds to a series of recent high-profile bank robberies in Karnataka, including the theft of gold worth millions in May.
