Liberia's ex-speaker, Jonathan Fonati Koffa, has been charged with arson over a fire that destroyed the nation's House of Representatives in a dispute stemming from his imminent removal. Koffa, accused of being "strategically involved" in the incident, had faced impeachment for allegations of corruption. Alongside five other lawmakers, he now faces charges including arson and attempted murder. Koffa and the detained lawmakers were remanded to Monrovia Central Prison in connection with the case.
