Gaza mother blames famine for halving daughter's weight

In Gaza City, a five-year-old girl has lost almost half her body weight due to famine, her mother told the BBC. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) raised the food insecurity scale to Phase 5, confirming famine in Gaza and predicting catastrophic conditions to expand. Despite this, Israel denied starvation in Gaza, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling the IPC report an "outright lie."
