Largest Mars rock ever found on Earth sells for $4.3m at auction

A record-breaking Mars rock, the largest ever found on Earth, sold for $4.3m at a New York auction. Weighing 54lb and measuring nearly 15in long, the meteorite named NWA 16788 is considered "unbelievably rare." Discovered in Niger in 2023, it is 70% larger than the next biggest piece of Mars recovered. Meteorites are remnants of rock from asteroids or comets that pass through Earth's atmosphere.
