Boeing defence workers set to strike in new blow to aviation giant
Published: 8/4/2025

Boeing faces a new obstacle as more than 3,000 defence workers plan to strike over pay, work schedules, and pensions, following a rejected offer with a 40% wage increase. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union members in Missouri and Illinois, building F-15 fighter jets and military aircraft, are preparing to walk out. Boeing is struggling to recover from various challenges, including safety issues, strikes, and financial losses, with recent incidents like fatal crashes and manufacturing problems affecting its reputation and operations.
