Vatican returns dozens of indigenous artefacts to Canada

The Vatican returns 62 indigenous artefacts to Canada, following a historic apology by Pope Francis for the church's role in suppressing native identities. Pope Francis gave the artefacts to the CCCB during his 2022 visit to Canada, aiming for dialogue and respect. The items, including an Inuit kayak and Cree Nation gloves, will be reunited with their communities, marking a significant step towards truth and reconciliation in acknowledging the painful history of indigenous peoples.
