UPS and FedEx ground some cargo planes after Kentucky air disaster
Published: 11/8/2025

Following a fatal plane crash in Kentucky, UPS and FedEx have grounded some of their cargo planes, including MD-11 models, at the instruction of Boeing. The crash left at least 14 people dead and caused significant destruction in Louisville. The decision to suspend use of MD-11 planes is an "abundance of caution" until further investigation is completed. UPS and FedEx are implementing contingency plans to ensure continuity in their delivery services while maintaining a focus on employee and public safety.
