Twenty-eight dogs trapped in loft as flooding hits
Twenty-eight dogs were left stranded in the loft of Glanrhyd Dog Sanctuary in Trimsaran, Carmarthenshire, due to severe flooding, with nine dogs already rescued. The sanctuary owner, Alison Clark, faced challenges evacuating the dogs as floodwaters rapidly rose, with some dogs remaining in crates in the loft due to their reactive nature. Widespread flooding caused disruptions in many parts of Wales, with the Met Office issuing warnings until Wednesday morning. Flood alerts and closures were in place, with the ongoing flooding attributed to high spring tides and heavy rainfall.
