Sir Keir Starmer criticized for welcoming Egyptian activist Alaa Abdel Fattah to the UK despite controversial social media posts endorsing violence against Zionists. Fattah, a British-Egyptian activist, was freed from prison and allowed to reunite with his family in the UK after sharing a Facebook post leading to his imprisonment in Egypt. Shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick labeled Starmer's approval of Fattah's arrival as a "serious error of judgment" due to the activist's past remarks. Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper and Justice Secretary David Lammy also faced backlash for supporting Fattah, with the Jewish Leadership Council criticizing the UK government's warm reception of him.
