Record referrals to Prevent anti-terror programme

In the year to March 2025, a record number of 8,778 referrals were made to the UK government's anti-terror programme, Prevent, showing a 27% increase from the previous year. The referrals included cases with no identified ideology (56%), extreme right-wing ideology (21%), and Islamist extremism (10%).
