Iran begins cloud seeding to induce rain amid historic drought
Iran has started cloud seeding to induce rain in response to the severe drought impacting the country. Water levels in Tehran's Amirkabir dam have dropped to just 8% of its capacity. Cloud-seeding operations were carried out over Urmia lake, Iran's largest lake, now largely dried out due to the drought. The process aims to combat record-low rainfall and near-empty reservoirs in the country.
