Doctors to begin five-day walkout in England
Published: 11/14/2025

Resident doctors in England will begin a five-day walkout as NHS tackles the 13th strike in a longstanding pay dispute. Despite efforts to keep services running, hospitals will feel the strain as non-urgent and emergency care will be affected. The walkout is estimated to cost £240m as NHS England tries to ensure 95% of non-urgent work continues, re-deploying consultants and senior doctors to cover the gap.
