British man jailed after trying to spy for Russia
British man, Howard Phillips, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for attempting to spy for Russia by offering personal information about former Defence Secretary Sir Grant Shapps. Phillips, who was arrested near King's Cross railway station after talking to undercover agents, was found guilty of assisting a foreign intelligence service under the National Security Act. Despite claiming he was motivated by money and not ideology, Phillips had dreamt of being like James Bond and was infatuated with MI5 and MI6, according to his ex-wife.
