Bondi gunmen threw explosives at start of attack and practised shooting weeks before, police allege
Police allege that the Bondi gunmen threw explosives, including a "tennis ball bomb," at the start of the deadly attack on a Jewish festival. Naveed Akram, charged with multiple offenses including murder, was released from the hospital and transferred to prison after being shot by police during the attack. Allegedly motivated by an Islamic State group-linked ideology, the Akram pair meticulously planned the terrorist attack, as revealed by videos found on Naveed's phone showing them conducting firearms training and sitting in front of an Islamic State flag.
