Boat Race coverage to move from BBC to Channel 4

The annual Boat Race coverage is moving from BBC to Channel 4 in a new five-year rights deal starting in 2026. Channel 4 will cover both the Men's and Women's Boat Races, with the BBC stating that its decision not to continue broadcasting was to ensure the best value for audiences. Channel 4's head of sport, Pete Andrews, expressed excitement over securing the rights for this iconic amateur sports event considered the "crown jewel of the rowing calendar." The next Boat Race will take place on Easter Saturday, 4 April 2026.
