Jobs in video games dried up, so we made our own
Recent graduates Holly Hudson and Harvey Hayman founded their own studio amidst a decline in job opportunities in the video game industry. Despite the challenges, they successfully launched their first commercial game, "Morgan: Metal Detective," with self-financed funding. Other aspiring developers are also finding success by creating content for games like Fortnite, leveraging platforms that offer revenue-sharing opportunities for creators. Visibility remains a key challenge for independent developers, but the industry is evolving to provide more accessible pathways for new entrants and upskill existing workers.
