UK's first foodbank marks 25 years

The Trussell Trust, the UK's largest foodbank charity with 1,400 locations, celebrated 25 years since opening its first foodbank in Salisbury in 2000. Maria Stevenson, who runs the Salisbury foodbank, introduced Citizens Advice services on-site to aid visitors with their finances, resulting in a significant positive impact. Despite the decrease in demand last year, with 7,637 people assisted in Salisbury, over a third were children, emphasizing the ongoing need for such services.
