Group given £1.5m to redistribute surplus food

Devon-based organization secures £1.5m grant to redistribute surplus food from farms into the community. The £13.6m grants from DEFRA will help charities across England prevent 19,000 tonnes of food waste. Food in Community CIC plans to expand operations, create jobs, and provide volunteering opportunities to tackle food poverty and reduce wastage in line with the government's Plan for Change initiative.
