Government to rethink rejection of Waspi compensation
The UK government will review its rejection of compensation for women affected by state pension age changes, potentially reconsidering financial payouts for 3.6 million women born in the 1950s. A survey from 2007 and undisclosed evidence have prompted this reevaluation, with no guarantee of payouts yet. Campaigners had called for payments of £10,000 each, but the government had previously rejected the recommendation for compensation.
