Fake discounts on Shein 'breach law', EU says

The European Union (EU) has accused fast-fashion website Shein of breaching EU laws with fake discounts, pressure selling, and misleading practices. Shein has been given one month to address the findings or face fines based on its sales in EU countries. The EU's investigation also found deceptive product labels, misleading sustainability claims, and fake deadlines to pressure consumers into making purchases. EU commissioner Michael McGrath emphasized the importance of e-commerce platforms like Shein adhering to EU consumer standards.
