Budget airline Jetstar Asia to close in weeks, customers offered refunds
Jetstar Asia, a Singapore-based budget airline, is set to close at the end of July, leading to over 500 job layoffs. The closure, influenced by rising costs and tough competition, won't affect Jetstar Airways or Jetstar Japan. Qantas, which owns part of Jetstar Asia, plans to redirect funds to renew its aircraft fleet and offer refunds to affected customers while redeploying planes for routes in Australia and New Zealand.
