Bakery closes 12 of its 14 branches as costs rise
Bakery chain Butterwick closes 12 of its 14 branches due to rising costs and changing customer spending habits. Only two stores in Rushden Lakes and Northampton will remain open as owners Fiona and Ryan Scarborough announce the closures "with immediate effect". The couple expresses regret for the impact on their team members and promises to focus on returning to their roots of an authentic in-store bakery experience in their remaining locations in Northamptonshire.
