Watch: Indonesia's Semeru volcano spews giant ash clouds as it erupts

Mount Semeru, the tallest mountain on Java Island in Indonesia, recently erupted, sending ash columns soaring 2km high. The eruption led to smoke engulfing nearby areas, including a bridge, causing alarm among residents. A pyroclastic flow, a swift mix of hot gas, ash, and rocks, was also observed at a distance of 7km from the volcano's summit, as captured in CCTV footage.
