Former US President Donald Trump has formally urged Israel's President Isaac Herzog to "fully pardon" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been on trial for bribery, fraud, and breach of trust for five years. Netanyahu, Israel's first sitting prime minister to stand trial, has denied all charges. The letter from Trump calls the prosecution of Netanyahu "political and unjustified." Herzog's office, while acknowledging Trump's support, stated that a formal request for pardon must be submitted following established protocols.
