Tibetans living in exile in India, including those born there, long for their homeland and struggle with a sense of statelessness and lack of identity. With around 70,000 Tibetans spread across 35 settlements in India since fleeing their homeland in 1959, they face challenges ranging from legal limbo to limited rights, such as the inability to easily travel abroad without Indian passports.
