Scores of bandits killed in air and ground raids, Nigerian military says

The Nigerian military conducts air and ground raids, killing scores of bandits in Zamfara state, North-west Nigeria, targeting criminal gangs responsible for high-profile kidnappings in the area. The air force carried out a raid in Makakkari forest, the hideout of over 400 gang members planning an attack on a village, following surveillance operations. In the past two weeks, armed gangs have attacked settlements in the region, resulting in numerous casualties and kidnappings, with 13 security personnel also losing their lives in the violence.
