Reddit and Kick have been added to Australia's social media ban for under-16s, joining seven other platforms, including Facebook and TikTok. Beginning on December 10, tech companies failing to deactivate accounts for children under 16 could face fines up to A$50 million. Australia's eSafety Commissioner emphasized the need to protect children from harmful design features, while some platforms, like Discord and WhatsApp, have been excluded from the ban. The ban aims to curb the influence of online platforms on young users.
