Most countries fail to submit new climate pledges ahead of summit

Only 64 countries have submitted new climate pledges ahead of COP30 summit, falling short of the requirement for all nations to do so. While these commitments would not keep global warming under 1.5C, there is progress in curbing carbon emissions projected over the next decade. Despite challenges, there are hopes that more countries, including major carbon producers like India and Indonesia, will unveil significant carbon plans during the upcoming summit.
