A bus fire in southern India, which claimed the lives of at least 20 people, was reportedly intensified by the presence of hundreds of smartphones onboard. The blaze, ignited after the bus collided with a motorcycle, quickly spread due to the lithium-ion batteries in the 234 mobile phones being carried. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as passengers tried to escape and locals rushed to help survivors during the tragic incident.
