Fictional K-pop bands beat BTS and Blackpink in US charts

A popular K-pop musical animation, KPop Demon Hunters, featuring fictional bands, has topped US music charts, surpassing real K-pop groups like BTS and Blackpink. The film's soundtrack made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200, with songs by the fictional bands achieving high positions on Spotify as well. Premiered on Netflix, KPop Demon Hunters follows the adventures of superstar band Huntr/x, an all-female group who are secret "badass demon hunters" protecting fans from supernatural threats, battling against rival band the Saja Boys.
