Ethiopia receives historic artefacts held in Germany for 100 years
Twelve historical artefacts returned to Ethiopia after being held in Germany for over a century, including crowns, shields, and paintings of cultural significance. The collection, originally gathered in the 1920s by Germany's envoy to Ethiopia, Franz Weiss, and his wife, Hedwig, was handed over to the Institute of Ethiopian Studies at Addis Ababa University. The artifacts are now accessible for research and academic study, marking a crucial step in preserving Ethiopia's cultural heritage and reflecting the growing global movement for the return of looted cultural items back to their rightful origins.
