A French museum in Landres was robbed of around 2,000 gold and silver coins worth €90,000, just hours after the theft of French crown jewels at the Louvre in Paris. The coins stolen from the Maison des Lumières museum were carefully selected and date back to 1790-1840. This robbery is part of a recent string of cultural heists in France, raising concerns about museum security across Europe.
