Warm weather boosted retail sales in June

June retail sales in the UK saw a 0.9% increase due to warm weather boosting fuel and supermarket sales, reports the Office for National Statistics. The rise in sales was linked to consumers venturing out more during sunshine, resulting in higher fuel purchases and increased sales at supermarkets. However, the ONS noted a greater decline in sales in May than previously estimated.
