Vapers overtake smokers for first time in Britain

In Great Britain, vapers have surpassed smokers in numbers for the first time, with 5.4 million adults using vapes compared to 4.9 million smoking cigarettes, as per the Office for National Statistics. Daily vape use is prevalent among 25-49 year olds and is increasing among women. Vaping carries fewer risks than smoking, as cigarettes release harmful chemicals, says the NHS. Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) highlights the importance of supporting communities where smoking rates remain high despite overall progress in reducing smoking rates.
