US military vets are helping Afghans fight deportation
US military veterans are supporting Afghan refugees facing deportation amid fears of being sent back to a Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. The group called Battle Buddies, founded by a US Navy vet, is standing up for Afghans who helped the US military and are now at risk of deportation. With over 900 veteran volunteers, they aim to protect their wartime allies and advocate against deportations through their presence at immigration hearings.
