A small nuclear power station, the first of its kind in the UK, is set to be built in north Wales, bringing thousands of jobs and significant investment. The facility at Wylfa on Anglesey will feature three small modular reactors (SMRs) and is expected to power around three million homes. Construction is set to begin next year with the goal of generating electricity by the mid-2030s. This project represents a shift towards cleaner, more reliable energy sources and signals a significant step forward for nuclear power in the UK.
