Two people die during failed Channel crossing attempt

Two individuals died in a failed Channel crossing attempt on Saturday off the coast of northern France, as a group of about 100 people tried to reach the UK by makeshift boat. French officials mentioned that 60 people were rescued while the two deceased were women, as per reports by French newspaper La Voix Du Nord. This incident adds to the toll of 25 deaths this year from attempted risky Channel crossings in small boats, underscoring the ongoing dangers refugees are facing.
