Suspected people smuggler arrested after BBC investigation

A suspected people smuggler linked to organized crime has been arrested in Birmingham following a probe by the BBC and the National Crime Agency (NCA). The 22-year-old Iranian man was detained on suspicion of conspiring to facilitate illegal immigration, after the investigation uncovered activities of a people smuggling group operating in northern France and the West Midlands. The suspect is currently in custody and is set to be questioned by NCA officers regarding the smuggling operation.
