Second boxer dies from brain injury after Tokyo event
Japanese boxer Hiromasa Urakawa, 28, tragically died from a brain injury sustained during a match in Tokyo. He was knocked out in the eighth round of his fight with Yoji Saito on August 2nd. This incident occurred shortly after the death of Shigetoshi Kotari, who also suffered fatal injuries during a separate bout on the same card. Both boxers underwent surgery for subdural hematoma, a serious condition involving blood accumulating between the brain and the skull.
