Sacked referee Coote charged by FA over Klopp video
Former Premier League referee David Coote is charged by the Football Association for making derogatory comments about ex-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in a leaked video. Coote, suspended in November 2024 and subsequently sacked by the Premier League referees' body, faces allegations of acting improperly and using abusive language. The FA has charged him with breaching rule E3.1 related to his conduct toward Klopp. Coote, also cleared of gambling misconduct, was banned by Uefa until June 2026 for a separate incident involving a video of him sniffing a white powder while on duty at Euro 2024.
